Both will work with the Office of the Director as well as the Center for Global Health and Economic Development.

Administration, Communications, and Research, Director’s Office
Department/Center: Director’s Office
Project Background:
The intern will primarily work on communications, research, and general administrative office duties for both the Director’s Office and the Center for Global Health and Economic Development (CGHED). S/he will assist with general event-planning and office administrative tasks, as well as the organization of a guest speaker series featuring members of the CGHED team and other global health experts. Finally, the intern will help generate content for the Earth Institute’s blog and newsletter on special initiatives of the Director’s Office/CGHED.
Anticipated intern tasks:
• Filing and archiving
• Proof reading
• Web maintenance
• General administrative tasks as needed
• Conduct research on Director’s Office projects and related topics
• Contribute to reports and articles
• Generate content for the Earth Institute’s blog and newsletter
• Assist with the organization of a guest speaker series
• Additional duties as assigned
Skills required:
The position requires that the student be a creative, positive and outgoing self-starter and team player. Strong organizational skills and attention to details is required. The candidate must exhibit strong writing, editing and design skills. The candidate should have an interest in international development or global public health. Experience working on grant proposals is preferred.
Type of student desired: The candidate must be at least a sophomore at the undergraduate level.

The intern will primarily work on communications, event-organizing, research, and general office duties for both the Director’s Office and the Center for Global Health and Economic Development at the Earth Institute. S/he will help research, write, and edit documents and publications produced by the Director’s Office, as well as grant proposals. S/he will assist with the organization of events and speeches featuring experts in global health and sustainable development. Finally, the intern will lead the effort to generate content for the Earth Institute’s blog and newsletter on special initiatives of the Director’s Office/Center for Global Health and Economic Development, and will keep the website updated.
Anticipated intern tasks:
• Conduct research on Director’s Office projects and related topics
• Edit reports, documents, and articles
• Contribute to reports and articles
• Help conceptualize and organize speaking events
• Generate content for the Earth Institute’s blog and newsletter
• Website design and content updating
• Additional duties as assigned, including general office tasks such as filing and archiving
Skills required:
The position requires that the student be a creative, positive and outgoing self-starter and team player. The candidate must exhibit strong editing, writing, research, and website skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to details is required. The candidate should have an interest in international development or global public health. Experience working on grant proposals is preferred. French translation ability is a significant plus but not required.
Type of student desired: The candidate should be a graduate student at least in their second year of study.
