Designated today was CIRSD Board Honorary Chairman Miguel Ángel Moratinos Cuyaubé; CIRSD board members Sheikh Muhammad Sabah Al Salem Al-Sabah, Shaukat Aziz, Mohamed Benaïssa, Micheline Calmy-Rey, Cheikh Tidiane Gadio, José Miguel Insulza, Markos Kyprianou, and Nur Hassan Wirajuda; CIRSD President Vuk Jeremić; CIRSD Executive Director Zdravko Ponoš, CIRSD Senior Fellow Damjan Krnjević Mišković, and CIRSD Program Director Nikola Jovanović. Biographies can be found on the CIRSD homepage under the heading “CIRSD Leadership.”
This announcement was made during the Belgrade meeting of the CIRSD Board of Advisors, which took place on June 1.
Earth Institute and SDSN Director Jeffrey Sachs, who is a member of the CIRSD board, underlined that “the expertise of the CIRSD board and senior staff in global diplomacy will complement the sustainable development expertise of the Earth Institute and the SDSN Leadership Council and SDSN global network. This new advisory group will therefore greatly advance the work of the EI and the UN SDSN in support of the new sustainable development agenda now being negotiated at the United Nations.”
