Sustainability

Sustainability refers to meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It emphasizes balancing environmental health, economic development and social wellbeing. Key aspects of sustainability include reducing resource consumption, minimizing waste, and promoting renewable energy and efficient practices. Climate change, biodiversity loss and resource depletion are driving the global push toward more sustainable practices. Scientific research in sustainability focuses on developing innovative solutions to reduce environmental impact, foster circular economies and promote resilient communities. Achieving sustainability requires collaboration across sectors to create a more equitable and balanced future.
