Columbia Water Center, The Asia Society and The Economist are cosponsoring the event Himalayan Glaciers and Asia’s Looming Water Crisis, Wednesday July 14, 2010, 6:30pm at the Asia Society.
The Himalaya is home to some of the world’s most magnificent peaks and largest glaciers, which supply crucial flows to rivers across Asia. Yet many glaciers are disappearing at an alarming rate.

This discussion corresponds with the opening of Rivers of Ice: Vanishing Glaciers of the Greater Himalaya, a new photography exhibit presented by the Center on U.S.-China Relations and Asia Society Museum.
