The Earth Institute is seeking two interns (and current students of Columbia University and Barnard College) to support its Professional Development program and assist with outreach for the 2020 All Ivy Environmental and Sustainable Development Career Fair.
The fair will take place on February 28, 2020. Each year it brings roughly 75 recruiters that are hiring for full/part-time jobs and internships to meet with over 1000 Ivy League students at Columbia University. We are looking for highly motivated, professional interns to: assist with outreach and follow up with organizations, and post jobs to the Earth Institute job list. The ideal interns will have experience in marketing, sales or advertising and will bring creativity, energy and enthusiasm to the task of getting incredible organizations to attend the 2020 All Ivy Career Fair.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: cold-calling organizations to invite them to the Career Fair; managing email follow up to organizations; maintaining an up-to-date spreadsheet of contacts, outreach and follow up steps; helping to prepare materials for the Career Fair; staffing the Career Fair on February 28, 2020; searching for/posting sustainability jobs online. Other related duties as assigned.
Skills Required:
Applicants should be highly motivated, detail oriented and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. The ideal candidate will be personable, pro-active and able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and precise. A background in marketing, sales, or advertising is preferred, but not required. Advanced Excel skills desirable.
Compensation:
$16/hour, 15-20 hours/week. Position to start as soon as possible and continue through March 2020.
