Outreach Internship with the Columbia Climate School
The Columbia Climate School seeks three interns to support its Professional Development program and assist with outreach for the 2023 Virtual All Ivy Environmental and Sustainable Development Career Fair. The Fair will take place on February 10, 2023. Each year it brings together roughly 75 recruiters that are hiring for full/part-time jobs and internships with up to 1,000 Ivy League students. We are looking for highly-motivated, professional interns to assist with outreach and follow-up to organizations; post jobs to the Climate School Job List; and update employer and student communications. The ideal interns will bring creativity, energy, and enthusiasm to the task of getting incredible organizations to participate in the 2023 Career Fair. The interns must be available to work in-person at The Forum at Columbia University.
Responsibilities include: contacting organizations to invite them to the Career Fair; managing follow-up communications to organizations; maintaining an up-to-date spreadsheet of contacts, outreach and follow-up steps; helping to prepare materials and setup for the virtual networking sessions for the Career Fair; and searching for/posting climate and sustainability jobs online. Other related duties as assigned.
Applicants should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will be personable, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and precise. A background in marketing, sales, or advertising is preferred, but not required. Advanced Excel skills desirable.
Type of Student desired:
Undergraduate or graduate.
$21.50/hour, 10-15 hours/week. Position to start in early October and continue through February 2023.
