Most Americans live with the expectation that fresh water is readily available and will continue to flow freely from their faucets. The reality is that environmental degradation, an aging water infrastructure, water scarcity, job instability, and the ability to provide food for a growing population are becoming more prevalent issues that in the next five to 10 years will become more and more acute.

The Columbia Water Center’s “America’s Water Initiative” aims to bring awareness and understanding of these issues to the general public and to ensure water security and the sustainability of our nation and beyond. This video sets out some of the issues.
