The Undergraduate Program in Sustainable Development is seeking an intern to support spring programming. The intern will divide their time between program administration and event communication and planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in communications, event coordination, and working in a highly professional environment on a diverse range of projects.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to: updating and generating web content and flyers, event planning and staffing, drafting and editing articles/profiles, and updating program materials.
Skills required:
- Applicants should be highly motivated, detail oriented and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with social media, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and MailChimp, as well as MS Office tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
- The ideal candidate will be personable, pro-active and able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and precise,
- A strong interest in the environment and sustainable development is preferred, but not required.
Type of student desired: Graduate or undergraduate students. Students who are enrolled in or plan to declare the Sustainable Development major/special concentration are not eligible to apply. Only current students of Columbia University and Barnard College are eligible to apply.
Note: This position requires candidates to be available in person at least one day a week.
Compensation:
$21.50/hour, 10-15 hours/week. Position to start in early-mid February.
